Step 8. Pass It On | Your Handy Guide To Planning For The Future

Once you’ve got your money planned out for your retirement years, you can think even further ahead. It’s not the cheeriest of thoughts, but you do need to decide what will happen to your wealth when you die.

“We have peace of mind knowing that we have created a safety net for our children as well as ourselves.”

Paul and Sue

If you haven’t already, it’s time to make a will and perhaps even think about who you want to have Power of Attorney, should you need help managing your affairs.

It’s also worth checking if your pension nominations are all present and correct. According to research published in the Financial Adviser, more than 60% of people who took part in one survey said the details of who they wanted their pension benefits going to were out of date. By making sure this is right now, should anything happen to you, it will help speed up the time it takes for the money to reach your loved ones.

There’s certainly lots to think about, but once it’s done you can relax and enjoy all the good times ahead.

“We are in a brilliant place. And would we be in this same place had we not exercised financial planning? No, we would not.”

Jon

HAPPY DAYS

There’s more to life than money. That’s why when we help our clients plan for retirement, the focus is always on how much fun you can pack into your retirement years, rather than just how much cash you can accumulate in the bank. It’s a holistic approach that we think you’ll value and respect.

We hope that this guide has helped you see that financial planning for retirement doesn’t have to be a headache. Our aim is always to cut out the jargon, keep things simple and put you in the driving seat.

So there’s a lot you can do yourself to get the ball rolling, and then we’re here to help you get all of your plans in place. And once that’s done, we’ll keep an eye on how things are doing over the coming months and years – meaning all you have to do is live your life, the best way you know how.

“It’s been really helpful having a financial road map to follow as we’ve gone through life.”

Simon & Nikki
