I joined Fortitude Financial Planning in September 2015.

I am passionate about quality financial planning; excellent customer service; fairness; and clarity.

What gives you the greatest kick out of your job?

Using my knowledge & experience to help others; being personally effective; seeing things from both a business & customer perspective.  My involvement in the Compliance function is an excellent fit for my skill-set.

How long have you been in the profession, and what positive changes have you seen in that time?

I have been in the profession since 1989.  Education of the general public has slowly gathered pace over the years, and pension freedoms have presented opportunities for people to ‘think outside the box’. 

What are your favourite places, activities & people?

I enjoy sightseeing in the UK, particularly in the countryside and especially the Cotswolds, Exmoor and the Highlands.  In the past I have also travelled to France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Africa, Corsica and Gibraltar.  I love walking, fine food & wine, cars, antiques and classical music (listening & playing).

Volunteering

I have been an Adviser for the Pensions Ombudsman since 2010 and a Mentor since 2021.  I have been a Director of Music at local churches and still play the organ regularly.  I also support wildlife charities and sponsor a child in Nepal via World Vision.
