Spotlight on Richard Peters, Financial Planner

Hi Richard. We’re going to start by talking about work; can you describe what you do in just three words?

Coaching, Planning, Enriching.

Very inspiring! And what has been your proudest moment at Fortitude to date?

Obtaining my Certified Financial Planner™ designation. This qualification has really opened my eyes to what real Financial Planning is all about.

That’s amazing, and it’s so important to continue to learn and upskill in your profession. What keeps you smiling at work every day?

Working with every individual in our amazing team. They are genuine, care for each other and seek to do the best they possibly can for our clients.

Having the right people really makes all the difference!
Now let’s step outside the office. What keeps you busy when you’re not working?

Well, that’s a hard one since I seem to be studying all the time! When I do find time I enjoy playing the drums. I also have a young family and our girls keep us busy.

It sounds like an incredibly loud household.
Richard, tell us the quote or phrase that goes through life with you.

There’s quite a few, but here’s one – make the most of every opportunity!

Solid advice. And where is the most interesting place you've been?

Wow there’s been many interesting places for different reasons. One of the most interesting was Zambia where I was able to play a part in teaching children and assist in building part of the school we were visiting. This was life changing!

That is incredible. Now for two quickfire questions: Who is your hero and why?

I don’t have a hero. But I do admire those who are humble and care for others even though they may not be recognised for what they do.

And finally, if you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be?

Be content with who you are!

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Richard, thank you for your time.
