A team update as Fortitude celebrates 20 years in business

Back in 2002, you may have been cheering on England in the nail-biting World Cup quarter final against Brazil, singing along to Enrique Iglesias’ ‘Hero’, or perhaps settling in to watch the very first series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

As well as all of this, though, 2002 was the year that our co-founders Mark and Chris set up Fortitude Financial Planning. The business was named to highlight our commitment to helping people just like you to create a future you can be excited about, no matter what challenges come your way.

To celebrate two decades helping clients to achieve their goals, we asked Mark and Chris to share their thoughts.

“Wow, 20 years, time really has flown by!

“When we first set up Fortitude, we had no idea where exactly it would take us, our aim though was to provide an outstanding service to our clients and always act in their best interests. This still rings true today.

“We are extremely proud of what Fortitude has become and the team we have built.

“We’d like to also thank all our wonderful clients for entrusting us to help them over the last 20 years.”

There is more to celebrate though, as we recently received a commendation from Moneyfacts for Retirement Adviser of the Year on top of some prestigious accolades.

Fortitude receives Moneyfacts commendation for Retirement Adviser of the Year

Last month, we were thrilled to be commended by Moneyfacts in their Retirement Adviser of the Year category.

The Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts Awards is a prestigious event held each year in London. The awards recognise the very best in the financial services industry across the UK, both product providers and service providers.

Finalists and winners are determined through a rigorous process, so to be commended for our services in retirement planning was a real highlight of the year for us here at Fortitude.

We would like to thank the panel at the Moneyfacts Group for this accolade, and the advisers who supported our application.

Two award wins at the Northamptonshire SME National Business Awards

We were also delighted to win two local business awards at the Northamptonshire SME National Business Awards in June.

These awards are for businesses up to a maximum of 250 employees, recognising and raising the profile of “industrious, hardworking and enterprising” SMEs nationally.

It is always a priority for us to support local initiatives and celebrate the success of other local businesses, so simply attending the awards ceremony in June was something we really enjoyed. It was a real cherry on top to have won the “Business of the Year – less than 50 employees” and “Towcester Business of the Year” awards.

As part of winning the Northamptonshire SME “Business of the Year – less than 50 employees”, we progress to the national final. The results of this will be announced on Friday 2 December at a ceremony at Wembley Stadium, and we look forward to being able to send a few members of our team to attend this prestigious event.

We would like to thank the judging panel and everyone at the SME National Business Awards for the recognition of our work. While winning awards is a great feeling, for us the real joy in these wins is knowing how much of a difference we are making to our clients and their future.
