A look back at 2022 at Fortitude

The end of the year is always a time for reflection and gratitude for all the good things that have happened since January. We find it to be a great time to take stock before diving into the new year.

So, as 2022 draws to a close, the team at Fortitude wanted to reflect on what has been a momentous year for our firm.

We have achieved a few significant milestones and award wins over the past 12 months, and what better way to celebrate than to share our wins with you?

We hit some important milestones as a business and as individuals

Richard appointed as a director

In April of this year, our colleague Richard was appointed as a director of the firm to recognise all of his hard work.

Richard has been a valued member of the team since 2016. In that time, he has achieved the Certified and Chartered Financial Planner qualifications. Now, he is an owner and director of Fortitude. We look forward to seeing everything he will help our clients achieve in this role in the future.

You can read more about Richard’s journey from financial adviser to director of Fortitude in his own words on our website.

Fortitude celebrates 20 years in business

In September, we celebrated 20 years in business. In fact, we can hardly believe how quickly that time has flown by!

The past 20 years have been an incredible journey, and we’ve loved helping so many clients to achieve their dream lifestyle using our financial planning philosophy.

Back at the start, we weren’t sure exactly what Fortitude would grow to be, but we are very proud of everything we have achieved. We’d also like to thank all our clients for trusting us with your goals and dreams.

Small business awards and commendations

The summer was a particularly exciting time at Fortitude because it featured two award wins and a commendation.

2 award wins at the Northamptonshire SME National Business Awards

We were delighted to win two local business awards at the Northamptonshire SME National Business Awards in June.

These awards celebrate and promote the work of “industrious, hardworking and enterprising” SMEs across the UK. Since we love to support local initiatives like this, it was great to be able to attend the evening, and a real bonus to win.

Fortitude was awarded the “Business of the Year – less than 50 employees” and “Towcester Business of the Year” awards, both of which we are very proud of. As well as giving our team a huge morale boost, the awards also remind us of the important impact our work has on the lives of our clients.

Moneyfacts commendation for Retirement Adviser of the Year

In September, Fortitude was commended in the Retirement Adviser of the Year category at The Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts Awards.

The commendation is a huge honour because these awards are one of the most prestigious in our industry, celebrating the very best product and service providers in the UK financial services sector.

We’d like to thank everybody who supported our application for the award, and the judging panel for their kind words and feedback.

We are proud to have continued to support Towcester food bank

You may remember that our charity partner for 21/22 was Towcester food bank, and we are so pleased to have been able to continue our support for this vital service throughout this year.

Each month we encourage our clients, team members, and other visitors to our office to donate any items that they can, which we then take to the food bank to support those who rely on its services. Our colleague Liz from the client support team has also been a regular volunteer at the food bank.

Time to relax after a busy year

After a busy and successful year, the entire team is ready to celebrate the festive period and ring in the New Year. We hope you enjoy the festive period and have the opportunity to reflect on your own highlights from 2022.

This year we will be closing from midday on Friday 23 December and reopening on Tuesday 3 January.
